Emir BardakçıA fresh leak from tech blogger @SugarDesign revealed the first look of the Xiaomi YU7’s interior, and it’s evident that Xiaomi is carrying on its sleek, futuristic design scheme from the Xiaomi SU7 series. Keeping the same look, the YU7 features new dashboard items and interior improvements. The news is especially welcome for the fans who are already following Xiaomi SU7 Ultra developments and look forward to the Xiaomi EV ecosystem.
The leaked photo indicates that the YU7 retains the steering wheel layout from the SU7 Ultra. Yet, it introduces innovation by moving the entire dashboard under the windshield in a wraparound pattern, improving visibility as well as futurism. The lack of physical buttons within the center control panel is a step toward an all-digital cabin.
Xiaomi YU7 Interior: What’s New?
The Xiaomi YU7 doesn’t simply copy the SU7 but innovates with a couple of new ideas.
- Dashboard Layout: Full width layout beneath the windshield
- Information Layout: Left to right — battery life, gear, speed, navigation, music information
- Ambient Lighting: RGB strips on AC vents
- Steering Wheel: Design based on Xiaomi SU7 Ultra
- Control Panel: No buttons, cleaner aesthetics
- Cup holder: Now positioned centrally for ready access
Even though the Xiaomi YU7 will not make an appearance at the Shanghai International Auto Show on April 23, Xiaomi will display the entire lineup of SU7 as well as SU7 Ultra vehicles. This plan can help keep YU7 out of the spotlight for a bit longer, possibly for a surprise launch or stand-alone launch event. In the meantime, the spotlight is still on launching the SU7 series as Xiaomi’s flagship EV offering.
