Samsung delays One UI 7, Xiaomi moves to HyperOS 3

While Samsung battles their sluggish OneUI 7 rollout and serious software bugs, Xiaomi finishes delivering HyperOS 2 to its massive device portfolio, demonstrating its dominance in the software update market even more so.

This is a stunning feat that underlines the brand’s efforts in delivering timely software updates to its wide array of products and reinforces the company’s passion for user experience and device longevity. It also indicates just how far behind Xiaomi’s competitors lie in keeping up with delivering seamless software support.

Update Timeline Comparison

The difference in timing of these rival updates is quite striking:

This wide gap indicates Xiaomi’s better update efficiency and resource utilization. It has demonstrated the ability to support its large device portfolio while at the same time creating the next version of its operating system.

Samsung’s Unexpected Setback

In a setback to its users, the company recently suspended the rollout of its Android 15-based One UI 7 update due to a critical software issue. Released on April 7 to start, the update for Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Galaxy Z Flip 6 models, is being pulled back in numerous regions.

This untimely development left numerous Samsung flagship users waiting even longer for the update, increasing the difference in the two companies’ software update timelines even further.

Xiaomi’s Update Achievement by Numbers

Xiaomi’s update track record has been quite impressive:

  • More than 100 device models updated
  • Over 500 individual updates in a period of 6 months
  • Full rollout of HyperOS 2 on compatible products
  • HyperOS 3 advanced testing already in progress

This kind of software support signifies the technical competency and operational efficiency of Xiaomi. It has ensured quality control while rolling out the update at a far faster rate compared to the competition.

Looking to the Future: HyperOS 3

As Samsung labors to stabilize OneUI 7, the competition in the form of Xiaomi is already completing tests on HyperOS 3. This next-generation operating system promises to introduce more refinements and new capabilities to the device ecosystem of Xiaomi, further strengthening the company’s software edge.

The comparison of the two update paths acutely shows Xiaomi’s increased predominance in both software development and rollout, establishing a new standard for the company’s peers.

I’ve got the global version of the Redmi Note 12 4G, and about two months ago, I installed HyperOS 2. Compared to HyperOS 1, the improvements in animations and UI fluidity are noticeable. The updates also seem to enhance system stability and performance. I’m really happy with it. Since then, I’ve received two updates: 2.0.8 and 2.0.9. I’m expecting to get 2.0.11 in the next few days.

And to some folks, if you’re not happy with Xiaomi, that’s fine. No need to come here every day just to hate on it. Just go with whatever brand you think works better for you.

What the heck, that’s the most laughable joke on this website. I’m not even getting a security update since 5-6 months even though my device still has support for it. You can’t even compare to one ui and comparing it about the timely release.

I have recently purchased a Xiaomi 15. Present upgraded OS- Xiaomi HyperOS 2.0.107.0
I am eagerly waiting for Xiaomi HyperOS 3.
I am very satisfied with this phone. Earlier I had Redmi Note 10 but Xiaomi 15 is only 152.3 mm and easily slips into my pocket. That is it is very much pocket friendly. I request Xiaomi to manufacture flagship phone in future of this size only e.g. Xiaomi 16, Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 18…
Also camera compartment at the backside of the phone is of square shape which I like very much unlike Xiaomi 15 ultra where camera compartment is of round shape which I do not like…
Another thing which attracts me more that camera compartment is on the top left side at the backside of the phone which I like very much.. But in some phone I have seen that camera compartment is in the top middle position at the backside of the phone which I do not like…
I request Xiaomi to notice my preferences and manufacture Xiaomi 16, Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 18 in exactly the same manner as like Xiaomi 15…
    My Xiaomi account is 5558458893…
Thank you very much for giving me such a awesome phone..
