Xiaomi enters global market with new appliance launch

Xiaomi revealed something exciting at the launch that will revolutionize the international user experience of the internet of Things for the home. The tech company revealed that they are officially taking the entirety of their big home appliance lineup into international markets by the latter half of the year for the first time ever outside of smartphone and compact smart device markets for the company. The move completes Xiaomi’s IoT platform that already covers millions of devices internationally, and reinforces the company’s commitment of providing quality products at affordable rates at varying ranges of products. The move reaffirms Xiaomi’s vision of complete home connectivity.

The international launch of these products should feature Xiaomi’s stunning range of smart refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioners, and the rest of the large appliance products that it already markets successfully in the home market. The products typically feature the capability to connect with the Mi Home app so that the user is able to manage the home ecosystem through a single app.

According to industry pundits, the move marks Xiaomi’s intention of taking the war directly to mature home appliance makers by employing the firm’s competitive pricing model coupled with quality products and integrated eco-system solutions. The company’s strategy with home automation solutions has always focused on quality at the best prices.

Founder and Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun spoke extensively about the company’s vision of the integrated smart home that goes far beyond the smartphone itself. With the recent launch of that vision, that much more within the company’s international user demographic now comes within reach. Although the specifics of the model and pricing are unannounced, the history of Xiaomi suggests that the international models should carry the quality-for-price balance that has pushed the brand forward elsewhere within the market.

Adding big home devices expands the depth of Xiaomi’s international product offerings that already include phones, wearables, television products, and plenty of small smart home devices. Bringing big devices into international markets gets Xiaomi that much closer toward the complete global solution for the smart home.

This also reflects the increasing confidence of Xiaomi in the global supply chain and delivery networks since big appliances are more complex to ship compared to compact electronic devices.
