The flagship phone, already available for pre-order since February 5, is a quantum leap in camera technology in smartphones that includes a next-generation 200-megapixel periscope camera system co-developed in partnership with Leica.
The new periscope camera system is also highly specified, having a 100mm focal length and a maximum aperture of f/2.6, offering support for up to 4.3X optical zoom capability. The advanced imaging system is set to set new standards in mobile imaging, particularly in capturing distant shots and detail preservation.
Running on Xiaomi’s new Surge HyperOS system, the 15 Ultra is powered by Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 8 Extreme Edition processor. The phone’s hardware specifications are also nothing short of astounding, providing 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage capacity to deliver a smooth ride even when used heavily.
Battery life is highly emphasized in the 15 Ultra, owing to a massive 6000mAh capacity battery. The phone also has support for speedy charging modes in the form of 90W quick wired charging and 50W quick wireless charging, offering users a low downtime duration.
The continuation of cooperation between Xiaomi and Leica in the camera system indicates that the company is serious about offering professional-level photographic functionality in a phone.
