Emir BardakçıSeriously, while the technology community is in wait for the major Android release forthcoming, both Samsung and Xiaomi are said to prepare for integrating Android 16 into their respective UIs: Samsung reportedly prepares One UI 8, and for Xiaomi-it is the turn of HyperOS 3 based on Android 16. The fact that we are almost at the end of the HyperOS 2 release may be a sign of this.
Android 16 Release Date
Google started the Android 16 Preview program in November 2024, with a public release to AOSP and OEMs in the next year. Beta releases will start in January 2025, with platform stability in March 2025. Although not yet announced, there is speculation that Android 16 may officially release on June 3, 2025.
One UI 8 Development at Samsung
It is said to have begun with internal testing of One UI 8 based on Android 16. Information regarding App code insight is that Samsung adds support for “decal shader” with the One UI Home launcher; this is indicative of very early work on the next-generation user interface, which would point toward an update cycle involving a One UI 8 beta in mid-2025, making the possibility for a late-2025 stable launch realistic.
Xiaomi HyperOS 3 Prospects
Xiaomi is expected to develop its custom interface based on Android 16, which will be known as HyperOS 3. As per reports, HyperOS 3 may offer features like Themed Icons, enabling better personalization wherein app icons adjust according to system color schemes for a continuous visual experience to the end user. It is supposed to arrive with new lineups of Xiaomi devices in 2025.
With Android 16 imminent, Samsung is preparing a further next-generation interface, while Xiaomi continues in active work with its upcoming major release in hopes of utilizing the new features and enhancements found within the fresh release. The enhancements in personalization, AI-powered functionalities, and general seamlessness when this update is actually pushed will be some very welcome prospects on their launch through next year.
Just give me Hyperos 2 and we can Talk about Hyperos 3.
Kinda stupid way of updates. We re not even getting 2.0 OS on our devices and they re talking about 3.0.
I am still waiting for HyperOS 2 for my device and this newsletter is saying they are preparing for Hyperos 3

Nah i want to be cool with Xiaomi but if that’s true that they started to develop HyperOs 3 that’s it for Xiaomi i’m done with them, i repeat but that’s not 100% sure that they work on it but if this month or even the next month they start to develop HyperOs 3 that would be a huge jock, they don’t even fully launche yet still 90% of smartphone that can recieve the update are not even in stable form, all the release of HyperOs 2 are still today in beta testing even tho that’s being 2 month that the official released is annonced.
