According to renowned tech blogger Digital Chat Station, Xiaomi is working on a new device with a 5900mAh dual-cell battery-providing equivalent capacity of 12,000mAh with support for 120W fast charging. It says this “most likely” leading-edge battery technology is for an upcoming tablet.
Key Features and Expectations Huge Battery and Ultra-Fast Charging
That would translate into a 12,000mAh equivalent battery, which would bring some very good longevity-good enough to keep power users and gamers going. Powered by 120W fast charging, users should be ready to charge their tablets much quicker, setting new standards in the tablet segment.
Positioning and Price
Unlike the just-in news Xiaomi Tablet 7 series, it shall not be a REDMI and it will come within the premium segment. The estimated price is said to be in the 4,000 yuan (~$550) range, so it should be a flagship device.
Comparison to Xiaomi Tablet 7 Series
Announced in October of 2024, the Xiaomi Tablet 7 Pro had features like an 11.2-inch screen with a resolution of 3.2K, a chipset of Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, a battery of 8850mAh capacity, and HyperCharge of 67W. That would be quite a significant boost both in terms of battery capacity and charging speeds for the new tablet, an aspiring darling among professionals and power users. Software Features
Like the Tablet 7 series, it will also be released with Xiaomi HyperOS 2 and come pre-loaded with:
PC-level multitasking and WPS Office support. Compatibility with Apple productivity applications like Keynote and Pages. Global AI Smart Assistant increases productivity by making things more accessible.
What Could This Mean for the Market?
High demand for high-performance, long-battery-life, fast-charging devices has lately been felt in the tablet market. This may mark a perfect opportunity for Xiaomi to fill this gap, especially with the rumored new tablet for users whose tasks on the tablet involve serious multitasking, gaming, and creative jobs. Although the on-screen size, type of processor, and otherwise are still kept under wraps, this tablet might easily stand shoulder to shoulder with premium rivals named like the iPad Pro and Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra.
Pretty obviously, the Xiaomi with its huge 12,000mAh equivalent battery, complemented by 120W of fast charging, might actually break several rules related to what one should actually expect from today’s offerings of tablets. All this needs is competitive pricing in order to pair up alongside flagship hardware, which would effortlessly position this at, or near, the very top of the heap among the premium segment contenders. You cant beat ipad if you dont have powerful productivity app like Procreate and ability to run Adobe Illustrator. Just create a similar app, make it powerful. And you can beat that ipad.
Have to agree with the other comment here.
I’m a Xiaomi fanboy but I have to admit that what makes the iPad “the” iPad is not just the hardware, but also its incredible software suite available from the Apple App Store.
Professional apps with the likes of Adobe, unless also made available for Android from the Google Play Store, is what the Android ecosystem needs in order to contend with Apple’s iPad.
We have to always take note that what makes a device great is always the hardware + software combination with the latter, being Apple’s strongest suit ever since.
If Whatsapp can not use may be little bad new. For Xiaomi company
