Redmi 13C 4G remains among top 10 best-selling smartphones

In a pretty insightful report that went live on November 7, 2024, by the market research firm Counterpoint Research, were included the world’s best-selling smartphones for Q3 2024. Quite surprisingly, it was shown that Xiaomi’s Redmi 13C 4G was continuing to stay in the top ten rankings globally for a second consecutive quarter.

Key Takeaways from Counterpoint Research – Q3 2024 Smartphone Sales Report

Meanwhile, the ten hottest models of smartphones accounted for 19% of the total sales of such devices globally, which essentially portrayed the nature of this highly competitive mobile market, dominated by several key models. With four models, Apple topped the list, followed by five places occupied by Samsung, while Xiaomi secured one.

Apple dominated the top places with the iPhone 15 series

Apple had taken four places in the top ten, with the iPhone 15 stealing the limelight and becoming the best-selling smartphone in the world in Q3 2024, grabbing 3.5% of the global market share. The iPhone 15 Pro Max followed hard on its heels with the iPhone 15 Pro, indicating strong demand for Apple’s premium products.

This was indeed a first, with sales of the Pro series of phones from Apple crossing 50% for the first time, reflecting the shift toward more advanced and higher-priced models.

The Samsung Galaxy S and A Series cater to the broadness of many market segments.

Samsung’s Galaxy S24 series made it to the top ten for the third consecutive quarter, driven by strategic marketing of the GenAI capabilities at Samsung. Galaxy S series had not appeared in the Q3 top-ten list since 2018 and marked a strong point for Samsung’s flagship line. The popular Galaxy A series occupied four spots in the top ten, doing quite well among entry and mid-tier consumers. The friendly combination of competitive pricing and extended software support has made the Galaxy A series a hot favorite among budget-conscious users, especially in emerging markets.

Strong Performance of Xiaomi’s Redmi 13C 4G in Emerging Markets

While Apple and Samsung are struggling, Xiaomi’s Redmi 13C 4G has managed an appearance in the top ten best-sellers for the second consecutive quarter in emerging markets. With its reputation for value-for-money pricing and decent performance, the Redmi 13C 4G has been the weapon of choice for the budget-sensitive consumer. Continued success shows that Xiaomi can win significant market share in price-sensitive areas with high-quality, affordable devices.

The success of the Redmi 13C 4G also attests to the fact that Xiaomi is committed to offering value-laden options that meet the needs of consumers across the board. By focusing on price and functionality as its key bottom lines, Xiaomi has kept its products accessible and desirable to the still-strong smartphone adoptions in emergent markets.

While the Redmi 13C 4G cements its place in the top ten best-selling smartphones in the world, Xiaomi still proves that it is good at bringing high-performance yet affordable handsets. While Apple and Samsung would bank on premium features and branding to capture their respective segments, the success of Xiaomi in emerging markets basically showed the strategic focus of the company in delivering value sans compromising on quality. It will be very intriguing to learn how Xiaomi further builds upon the success of the Redmi 13C 4G to further increase its share in the global market. The latest report from Counterpoint reveals not just the existing scenario but also how the people’s preferences face forward worldwide in smartphones. Stand by for Xiaomi’s further innovation drive, as it decides to bring competitive products into the global scene.
