Xiaomi 13 series won’t be getting complete HyperOS 2 features

Meanwhile, ahead of the highly expected launch of the Xiaomi 15 series and HyperOS 2 on October 29, some news hasn’t let the dust settle on the compatibility of HyperOS 2 with older Xiaomi models. Zhang Guoquan, director of Xiaomi’s mobile system software department, recently responded to user queries on a day-to-day basis about whether the Xiaomi 13 series is qualified for the full-scale hyperOS 2 system. The answer is, this device series will not support all of the HyperOS 2 capabilities.

Why the Xiaomi 13 Series Won’t Get Full HyperOS 2 Features

Answering questions on social media, he explained that the Xiaomi 13 series is going to get the HyperOS 2, but it will not get the “full-blooded” version because of limitations of some hardware, and “Some special effects cannot keep up.”

The hardware, especially AI capabilities, has improved too much in the past two years.” This comment would result in beliefs that performance leaps in the computer hardware capabilities between the Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 15 series-especially in AI processing power-play a major role in holding back the Xiaomi 13 Series from availing all the features of HyperOS 2.

What’s Missing for Xiaomi 13 Users?

Zhang didn’t detail which exact set of features and visual effects won’t make it into the Xiaomi 13, but he did stipulate that Xiaomi tries to bring as many HyperOS 2 features to that series. Some omissions likely will be advanced AI-powered special effects and new graphical enhancements, all requiring a more powerful AI processing core-something newer models are fitted to do best.

The Xiaomi 15 series, on the other hand, packs in the latest AI hardware-one catering to the demands of HyperOS 2 with the provision of visual and performance technologies harnessed by its self-developed HyperCore kernel, optimized for power and performance mainly for AI-intensive tasks where newer devices enjoy an appreciable lead in running HyperOS 2 at full throttle.

Not All Hopes Lost for Owners of Xiaomi 13 Series

While it will not carry all the features of HyperOS 2, the Xiaomi 13 series will still provide a number of significant updates. The company has promised to add a variety of HyperOS 2 features to the Xiaomi 13 series, so users can expect system fluency, efficiency, and functionality to be worth mentioning. However, some processive visual effects or AI-enabled capabilities might come tuned down or not at all.

HyperOS 2: Wider Rollout and Further Updates

Besides the Xiaomi 15, Zhang Guoquan hinted at adaptation of HyperCore for other models in the Xiaomi lineup as it plans the wider rollout for HyperOS 2. This could very well mean that while the Xiaomi 13 series might not get the full HyperOS 2 experience now, later updates will probably carry more optimizations to the older models.

The fact that it is happening means the Xiaomi community is still waiting to see how, or if, HyperOS 2 will level things up. While the limitations with the Xiaomi 13 series might apply, that doesn’t mean the company has given up on ensuring the meaningful updates for the upper echelons of its existing user base. Now, stay tuned for more information and details about the upcoming Xiaomi HyperOS 2 and Xiaomi 15 series on October 29.

the phone (Xiaomi 13)was bought new for 1000 euros, and after two years the company tells you that it won’t get good upgrade features, then why should I get a phone with so much money? I won’t get an expensive phone from this company again, I’ll switch to Samsung which at least respects flagship phone buyers

Everyone moaning in the comments, but what do they expect when technology moves at light speed!?
Thank you for at least updating last year’s models – even if they won’t benefit from all the new features.

You promis us for full upgrade
Now they say we wont get all futures after under couple of years
What is use of to buy 75000 rs phone
If we don’t get all futures after promising
    I guess it is cheating
What should we do to claim this

I am very disappointed with Xaomi that a phone, any of the 13 series, does not get all the updates being purchased 2 years ago for more than € 1000, and according to them it is already old, it is a deception, being a mobile that a Huawei 20 pro from 7 years ago gives it a thousand turns in intuitive management. DISAPPOINTED WITH XAOMI, my first and last Xaomi mobile.
