On October 24, a new Xiaomi phone with model number 24117RK2CC passed the 3C certification, and according to popular tech blogger @WHYLAB, the phone is none other than Redmi K80 Pro. Launching at the beginning of November 2024, the Redmi K80 Pro is surely going to give some serious updates on performance with the powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite processor.
Redmi K80 Pro: A Flagship to Keep an Eye On
Earlier in the month, Xiaomi’s Wang Teng, China Marketing Department Deputy General Manager and Redmi brand General Manager, hinted that this year’s flagship products of Redmi would improve not only performance but also many other key factors. According to him, “The positioning and specifications will be greatly improved; therefore, users who are planning to change their phones at the end of the year can just wait.”.
While certain detailed specifications of the Redmi K80 Pro have not been fully revealed, the Redmi K80 series is expected to bring in some major improvements in all respects, from performance and display quality to camera capabilities.
A Look Back at the Redmi K70 Series
To give an idea, the Redmi K70, launched in November 2023, came fitted with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor and a 6.67-inch 3200×1440 Huaxing Optoelectronics C8 OLED flexible display running at 120Hz refresh rate. Notably, it came with a 700nit manual max brightness, 1200nit full-screen excitation, and local peak brightness to 4000nit.
The K70 also featured a main 50MP Light and Shadow Hunter 800 with OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP macro camera.
Where the Redmi K70 Pro really went ahead was to come fitted with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 50MP portrait telephoto camera. As a matter of fact, this being the reason needs no further clarification as to why Xiaomi has always remained committed to high-quality, feature-rich devices at very competitive price tags. What to Expect from Redmi K80 Pro
Inside, the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset promises next-level processing power, great for heavy multitasking and gaming, among a host of resource-consuming applications. Add camera upgrades and probable improvements to display technology and battery efficiency, and the K80 Pro is shaping up to be a major competitor in the flagship smartphone market.
November’s Big Launch
With an announcement expected in November 2024, there is much anticipation for the Redmi K80 Pro. Given that Xiaomi phones come in at generally attractive price levels, this may be just the right phone that will turn the tables not only on its Redmi lineup but also on the entire smartphone market. Keep running for more updates soon after Xiaomi’s October 29 launch of the Xiaomi 15 series, and more about the Redmi K80 Pro is expected thereafter.
