It comes in, in an outlook pretty similar to a smartwatch; it doesn’t abandon its actual identity: tracking your fitness. Here is what we know of the Xiaomi Band 9 Pro from the recent renders that have surfaced online.
Smaller design changes with a larger display
The leaks point out that the Xiaomi Band 9 Pro will have minimal design changes from its predecessor, the Xiaomi Band 8 Pro, which entered the market in the early part of this year. However, the upgrades are worth noticing, especially with regard to the screen. There is a bigger and slightly curved display, making the Band 9 Pro look even more premium and resemble a smartwatch, as opposed to the flat display of its elder sibling.
This precedes the trend of Xiaomi updating its line of fitness bands with the offering of a much larger, more vibrant display compared to those in earlier generations. The Xiaomi Band 9 Pro is reported to have smaller bezels, enhancing its look without greatly changing the look of the overall device.
New Color Options
These renders leak the Xiaomi Band 9 Pro in three color options: Silver, Black, and Gold. Although these are the only confirmed colors for now, consider Xiaomi might still introduce other color variants at least closer to its official launch. These will add to providing more classical and trendy options for users.
Improved Strap Design
Another subtle but important change is the design of the strap: the TPU strap now features an improved connecting design c/at the end of itself, unlike the Apple Watch. It gives the band more cohesion and refinement. The strap is more symmetrical now, accented by a pill-shaped button that clicks the thing into place, furthering the sleek aesthetic of the band while guaranteeing better functionality and durability.
Differences from Band 8 Pro
Another obvious visual difference could be that of the side frame. While in the Band 8 Pro, it was a glossy metal frame, the side frame of Band 9 Pro has a rough surface, which may give a better grip and add more distinction to its look. The Xiaomi Smart Band 9 Pro feels more like a refinement rather than a revolutionary upgrade over the predecessor: the screen is bigger and more curved, and the design elements, including the strap attachment, are upgraded.
Compared to the Band 8 Pro, it hasn’t revolutionized anything, but the upgrades placed on it make it an inspired choice for those in search of a sleek, modern, high-end fitness tracker.
