Xiaomi closes official POCO website on December 2024

In a surprise turn of events, Xiaomi’s POCO brand has just announced that its global website, po.co – including the UK, France, and other global sites – will be closed by December 31, 2024. But that does not spell the end of the POCO brand. From October 21, 2024, onwards, all POCO products, services, and after-sales support will fall under Xiaomi’s official website, mi.com/global.

Integration Details

Xiaomi sais that all customer service, purchase records, and loyalty programs-including the POCO Points-will automatically migrate to Xiaomi’s platform. The existing coupons will be automatically re-issued before December 12, 2024, and users do not need to take extra action during this process. All the historical orders, logistics information, and customer comments will be automatically migrated to Xiaomi’s system.

Integration smoothens Xiaomi’s ecosystem, while POCO as a brand remains inside Xiaomi’s architecture. Though the independent app of POCO Store will no longer be operational after December 31, product availability and after-sales support would not be affected.

Impact and Broader Strategy

This move seems to hint at Xiaomi’s strategy of cleaning up its digital space by folding sub-brands into one main platform. Curiously, POCO India, operating under poco.in, is not very likely to be affected by this move. That has marked a new chapter for POCO, which could now, under the large ecosystem of Xiaomi, proliferate more but still keeps the identity for its products.

Stop telling your problems to this website, this isn’t xiaomi. It is a news website that only posts about xiaomi and it can’t fix anything about your phone that this website didn’t make.

After the poco’s site integratead into the Xiaomi’s website, would I be then able to buy a Poco smartphone from the Xiaomi’s website? Cause right now the Poco site does not take orders from the web, after clicking on “buy now” button it takes me to the Flipkart. And the problem I have with Flipkart is, it mandates the ”Open Box Delivery” for all its orders where the delivery agent does the unboxing of the Product when it arrives! And the delivery agent ends up tearing the box, and he does not even allow customer to touch the box! It really ruins the unboxing experience! It’s an awful experience! I refrain myself to buy products just because of this shitty “Open Box Delivery” policy of the Flipkart!

I will never buy any Poco phone. Each one (I had 4) had different problems finished up dead in less than two years.

Reading these comments was more entertaining than I ever expected from such empty article. I bought my Poco X6 5G about 6 months ago, very happy with my choice. Bought M6 for my GF, not very impressed with that one though it wasn’t much cheaper than my X6. If Xiaomi has a good sale on black Friday, might get her X6 as well. Anyone interested buying used M6? 😜
