On Tuesday, today’s date, through Weibo, Lu Weibing from Xiaomi Group and General Manager of the Xiaomi brand announced that Hu Xinxin was used to be a product manager of the series Civi at Xiaomi and joined the Redmi team just now as a new product manager. The move fuels speculation on whether Xiaomi will axe its Civi lineup of smartphones.
With the recent rumors that want the Civi series axed, Wang Teng, Xiaomi China Marketing Department Vice General Manager and General Manager of the Redmi Brand, decided to intervene on Weibo after a comment by a fan. He stated that the Xiaomi Civi series will “continue to be made” despite the recent management rotation.
The Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro, launched earlier this year, came with great specs like the Snapdragon 8s Gen3 chipset and a triple camera head powered by Leica. There was also a Disney Princess limited edition of the phone that turned heads in June. Wang Teng’s statement reassures all Xiaomi fans that this lineup, Civi, will continue to be part of the phone offerings from Xiaomi despite the change of leadership in the product team.
