Things similar to the Redmi Note 14 Pro camera design

Now, the highly anticipated Redmi Note 14 Pro+ 5G is going to arrive at the end of September 2024 with HyperOS out of the box. But the most interesting thing that has become the center of attraction is its unique camera design. Besides getting inspiration from the looks of iQOO 12, it also intelligently resembles the shape of Xiaomi’s iconic logo and forms a connection between the brand and its product.

Camera devised from both iQOO 12 and the Xiaomi logo

The iQOO 12, upon its launch in 2023, offered a given triple camera setup. A 64MP primary sensor was paired with a periscope telephoto lens. On the left side of the device, cameras were aligned; the design wore a clean look, with minimal outlines and iQOO branding on the right.

Well, in a surprise plot twist, it’s Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 14 Pro+ 5G that adopts this very design but puts its own twist on it. If one looks closely at the module housing the 50MP main camera on the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ 5G, it sports a shape eerily similar to that of the Xiaomi logo. That symmetrical, rounded camera setup does resemble the brand’s logo so much that it tends to feel even more like an integral part of the Xiaomi design language.

Besides, while iQOO 12 packed a telephoto lens, Xiaomi’s design eschews that in favor of simplicity and style. Also, the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ 5G is fitted with an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, which plays big in an update over its predecessor models.

The camera module of the Redmi Note 14 Pro+, in addition, emulates brand identity with Xiaomi, while the rounded design created by the camera itself seems to take inspiration from objects of everyday use, such as watches and compasses, making the technology even merge with the forms related to life. Also, the strategic decision to actually copy the layout from iQOO 12 and then differentiate with their own branding elements upfront provides them with an advantage on both artistic grounds and with user association.

It really does look like Xiaomi is taking a direction in design more in the line of brand identity and recognizability, to make sure this Redmi Note 14 Pro+ is not only performing well but also becoming instantly recognizable. With these innovative choices on both hardware and software sides, what are you most hyped about in relation to the coming Redmi Note 14 Pro+? How would you have felt about its camera design by now, knowing it was similar to Xiaomi’s logo? Leave your comments below!
