The Redmi 14C was first discovered chilling in an online store from Vietnam with a scheduled release date of August 31. The smartphone is now headed to China in addition to it and will feature the model number “2409BRN2CC,” although, this point in time, it is unknown whether it will be known there as the Redmi 14R 4G. Further, it should be noted that Xiaomi has not launched a 4G phone in China in quite a long period of time, so this is a bit of a surprising decision.
Initial Leaks from Vietnam and Specifications
Three days ago, our report detailed the Redmi 14C’s listing in Vietnam, and with it emerged a leaked photo that illustrated the product’s key specifications. According to the image, these are:
- Display: 6.88 inches with big screen size
- Camera: 50 MP AI-enhanced rear camera
- Battery: A monstrous 5160mAh strong battery
- 18W fast-charging support
In addition, the model has a dual rear camera setup, a waterdrop notch, a relatively large bottom bezel below the display, and a space-effect-designed rear cover. The camera model size is also very similar to that of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra.
Storage and Color Options
The Redmi 14C should have been released with different storage combinations: 4GB RAM + 64GB Storage, 4GB RAM + 128GB Storage, and 6GB RAM + 128GB Storage. We also previously leaked that this model would get a Helio G81 based processor. The device is also rumored to have a twin model named POCO C75. As one of the color options mentioned in the list for Vietnam, the green variant was confirmed through leaked images, adding an aesthetic option for consumers.

A new 4G Xiaomi model in China? Considering that the last 4G phone Xiaomi launched in China was quite a while ago, the Redmi 14C might not necessarily come with this feature in this market. A new model number for sale could add some more colors to Xiaomi’s strategy in the Chinese market. There is now no certainty regarding the release details of the Redmi 14C in China, such as the official model name. This new entry-level phone, made particularly great news regarding strengthening Xiaomi’s lineup of affordable devices intended for a wide audience.
